Southern Cross leaders recognised in Insurance Business Elite Women 2022 list
The inaugural Insurance Business Elite Women 2022 list has been released and two Southern Cross leaders - Jo McCauley (pictured left) and Vicki Caisley (right) – have been selected.
The list recognises the role that some of the industry’s top professionals have played in changing the status quo of a sector where men still dominate many of the leadership roles.
CEO of Southern Cross Travel Insurance (SCTI), Jo McCauley, has been selected in recognition of her work at the helm of the organisation during one of its most challenging times.
When Covid-19 brought the wider travel industry to a virtual standstill, the business had to make tough decisions around the size of SCTI’s workforce and, since then, McCauley has worked tirelessly alongside her remaining team to maintain momentum and adapt to the changing travel needs of customers.
McCauley says she’s honoured to be included in the Insurance Business Elite Women list.
“As a female CEO of a Southern Cross business, I’m very proud to lead the business during this very difficult time for both the travel insurance and wider travel industry, and to be recognised for that. Being included among a list of amazing women doing such impressive work is humbling and a huge honour,” she said.
Also joining McCauley in the Insurance Business Elite Women 2022 report is Vicki Caisley. Caisley is Southern Cross Health Society’s Chief People and Strategy Officer and has led the organisation’s people and strategic planning function for nearly a decade.
Caisley says she’s proud to have her work feature as part of the Insurance Business Elite Women 2022 list.
“My job is all about ensuring we have the right operating model and culture to deliver on our strategy and that we’re with our employees in support of them living their healthiest lives, so I’m very proud to be recognised in a list that celebrates those who are shaping a future for an insurance industry that’s more diverse,” she said.
The Insurance Business Elite Women 2022 list invited insurance professionals from around Aotearoa to nominate their exceptional female leaders. Those nominations included their standout professional achievements over the past year, as well as their contributions to diversity and inclusion in the insurance industry.
